| RGVSC ACTIVITIES – March 2010 Social Dinner The RGV Shriners Social will be held Wednesday, March 3, 2010. We will be having a corned beef and cabbage dinner at 7:00 PM. Please call the club at 797-1524 to make reservations by Monday, March 1st, to insure there is enough food. Business Meeting Clinics 2010 Clinic Dates If you have questions regarding the clinics, please call the Club @ 1-956-797-1524. Masonic Lodges in Our Area The Masonic Blue Lodges invite all Nobles to attend their meetings. Certification of good standing is required. Remember we must involve the Blue Lodges in the Shrine. As well, the members of the Shrine must support the Blue Lodges. One cannot exist without the other, and as all members know, our ranks are shrinking. Add this Date To Your Schedule! March 25th is Winter Texan day in Progresso and we are going to be shaking the cans at the Progresso International Bridge on the 25th, 26th and 27th of March. We need all the help that we can get, so sign the list and volunteer a few hours. Hospital Transportation As always, drivers are needed to transport the children to the hospital. The children we serve and the hospital, depend on us to deliver our patients for treatment. If you want to volunteer or you have any questions contact Dave Nickols at (417) 385-8042. Step up to the challenge! That is what the Shrine is all about! Bedouin Band Members of the band meet at the RGVSC on the second and fourth Thursday of each month, unless there is a conflict with the Clinic. Call President Johnny Munoz @ 542-7012 if you have any questions. We need new members. Temple Officers For 2009 Stated Meeting Al Amin March 12, 2010 @ 7:00PM The meeting will be for the transaction of any business that shall come before it. Golf Unit News Reminder to all Shriners: Golfing Shriners are invited to join the Golf Unit and participate in the monthly Play Days, the Annual Invitational Golf Tournament and all social activities. Leave your name and phone number with the RGV Shrine Club or contact President, Ken Jackson, at 956-425-9326 to get started. Music Show We are planning a music show on the 28th of January. This will be a tribute to country stars. You will hear songs made popular by such stars as Loretta Lynn, Hank Williams, Ernest Tubb and many, many more. These have been good money makers in the past. This show will be put on by Don and Connie House and the Country Opry Group. Tickets are available. Fund Raising Dinner Our fund raising dinner was a great success!!! We had a delicious steak dinner followed by an informative movie presentation about the Shrine and what it has done for some of our patients. After that we had entertainment by Three of a Kind and following that we had a door prize drawing with lots of prizes. All in all it was a very enjoyable evening. Of course, the main reason was to raise funds and it was very successful in doing that. Charro Days Charro Days is on February 26 & 27 this year. The Big parade in Brownsville will be on Saturday February 27. Come and parade with the Shriners or walk through the crowd of spectators with a collection can to help our hospitals. You could just come to watch and cheer us on. |
